Thanks Troy! It was quite the year for sure. I am going to take it a little slower this next year! Glad to have met you as well and wishing you all the best. Happy New Year.
I was glad to get more than 30 finished and then saw you nearly tripled it. Then I saw 'Shakespeare: Complete Works' and realized you actually did. Good work.
Thanks for the kind words. Well done yourself! This was a particularly good year but I think 2024 I will slow down a bit. We will see how things go. As long as people are reading, that is what matters.
Thanks John - I felt very good about last year's reading but some of it (particularly Shakespeare) was a bit rushed. Going to slow down a bit this year and take more notes. We will see how it goes.
It’s good to have various reading “gears” for different terrains. And perhaps all-wheel-drive and cruise control--but I think that my metaphor is getting away from me...
That is one heck of a list! Wow. I love that not one of those was on my list, that there is such a richness of choice that we all end up with different reading paths we follow. As an aside, I love that Louis L'Amour features heavily - I always remember my dad reading them when I was young; I think he was an influence on my love of books. We met up last year for the first time in a good many years and he is still going strong, reading voraciously.
Here's to your slow reading targets in 2024, Matt.
The options available to us are seemingly infinite! It is a good problem to have. My dad is an avid reader and read all the Louis L'Amour books multiple times. A couple years ago when he and mom were downsizing a bit he gave me his collection of Louis' complete works, 150 leather bound volumes. I am slowly working my way through them!
You've had quite a reading year :D
Happy new year!
Yes, it was an ambitious undertaking. I think 2024 will be a little slower which is ok with me. Have a great new year!
What. A. List. Wow...
Happy New Year, Matthew! I'm glad to have come to know you on here. Wishing you a year of joy and contentment.

Such a great list, a few favorites and many I’ve never heard of. Wishing you many happy hours of reading in 2024!
Thanks Jenn! Have a wonderful new year.
Happy New Year, Matthew! What an excellent list of books.
Happy New Year as well Tiffany! Thanks for checking out my year in review. It was hefty this year, I might slow down a bit next year. All the best!
Wow, you have really covered some reading ground here, Matthew! Look forward to hearing more about your reading life in 2024 😀
It was a pretty good year. Having a plan and being intentional about reading helped. All the best!
That’s an extraordinary list, Matthew! Looking forward to reading your reflections on your reading in the coming year.

What a mighty gift that was ... so many times over. The gift of reading and the gift of books.
