I grew up way in the last century when recycled animated cartoons filled the Saturday morning airwaves to entertain children and allow their parents a chance to sleep in a bit. Bugs Bunny quickly taught me just how subversive of reality animation can be. Rocky and Bullwinkle took me further into that aspect.
I love this essay by Jon! Reading is such an integral part of my life - and that all started with some of the books Jon mentioned here. It’s great to see how writers are inspired to create from what they read. Thank you for sharing :)
Loved this interview, Matthew, and thanks for the mention! 😀
Great!

I know this feeling. My brother and I did the same although Spiderman was our cartoon of choice on Saturday morning.
Thank you so much for letting me do this; it was so much fun.
Thank you, Jon! I’m always interested in hearing about the beginnings of a reading life.
