Awesome interview! Maria, I just got finished reading the midnight library. Love it and it was a page turner for sure. Charlotte's Web was my favorite childhood book. I read it to my son too as it was a favorite of his
I really enjoyed reading this. I, too, think that books have great power. I see this all the time in my class at school, where children start to sympathise with a character or start rooting for one. They truly have that power. Wonderful interview.
Love this interview! Wonderful insights about the writing process and and a sense of realism too about the craft and commitment AND joy that comes from it ❤️
Wonderful interview!! And Maria, I absolutely loved this paragraph: "We need stories, even if we’ve never given the matter much thought. There are many reasons why stories matter, but the one I return to over and over, and the one that fuels my need to write, is that stories help us understand our world and each other. Who, among us, doesn’t want to feel understood? The best stories translate individual experiences to universal understanding." So true, and so well-articulated!
Great interview, thanks, Matthew and Maria! 🙏💚
So glad you enjoyed it, Don. Thank you so much for reading!

Thanks so much for reading, Jane! It sounds like we are drawn to the same kinds of stories.😊 These two are treasures, for sure.
